Humanity is back on the rise after a near-extinction event. Blinded by their own hubris, in an attempt to make as much money as fast as possible, large corporations invented a toxin they used in their factories all over the world. The vapors eventually engulfed every inch of the planet, making everything it touched sick or die. So, humanity took to the skies, out of the toxin's reach. That's where Jolene was born, and learned how to survive.
