Cake (named after her love of sweets) stumbles upon an ancient spirit named Mundoo. He notices that she is a medium who can see and communicate with ghosts, and decides to become her guardian. He teaches her how to become a Gravekeeper, a protector that tackles the difficulty of keeping peace between the human world and spirit realm. Joined by her spirit banishing shovel and a ghost raccoon sidekick named Strudel, Cake must learn how to navigate these two worlds on her own the best way a kid can
