What happens when you keep getting second chances you don't want? Adire is a young woman serving out her criminal life sentence with forced military service for the nation of Alcaria. Recently demoted, she must now head up a squad of other dysfunctional criminals and complete her service as quietly as possible. But, her squad seems almost determined to not make that easy and, in a world where anything can be a weapon in an instant, things can get out of hand incredibly fast.
