Doris Ng grew up helping her father’s provision shop in Singapore. She and her siblings would spend most of the time there growing up. To earn extra money, her family used to sell lottery tickets. The government had previously made lottery tickets illegal. One day, the police were raiding shops in plain clothes to find out which shops were distributing tickets.
