It is a dark fantasy novel about an elf and a demon, where debt forces an elf to enter into an unequal marriage with a lord. Where an elf was to accept death in duel with a lord, the lord chose an alliance with a fearless elf. The two have different motives, and where one is constrained by a duty to his people, the other seeks to win the heart and aims gain favor. It is a story about where trauma cannot be ignored, where this alliance disrupts the political balance.
