Gabriel, a Gehenna demon of the Iao generation, has gone against the principles of his generation, stopped hunting human beings and eating their souls. Instead, he now saves these humans - "dismentis", as they are called in the Iao generation - and houses them in a school founded especially for this purpose, the Mihail School. His apostasy about his destructive origins doesn't go unnoticed, of course, and while Gabriel does so much good, he doesn't know if he's doing the right thing.
