Since 2021, demons have been a heavily feared force; but with the current technology, that fear is eased. Even then, they are still powerful. Haruto wants to join the special pilot unit, so he can get revenge on demons and protect the innocent. He eventually finds out that this is a long and painful journey, but despite this, he continues, and goes through physical and mental torture -- which makes his goals difficult to reach.
