At its heart, Jacky: The City Doesn’t Do Refunds is a satirical story about the right to be complicated in a world that wants everyone to be predictable. Through Jacky's humorous rebellion, the comic challenges the idea that people should be judged by how they appear rather than by their circumstances, choices, and actions. The central message: You do not have to look happy to deserve respect, and you do not have to be agreeable to do something good.
