Harper Fay is a street kid aiming to change her fate. She joins an eccentric (morally questionable) group of soldiers tasked with investigating a recent plague of abominations and corrupted crystals, magic made manifest, scouring the lands of an already war torn world. She and her friends quickly become pawns in a centuries long game of vengeance played by two ancient beings; one that threatens the mantle of the world.
