As Nina’s 10th birthday approached, she witnessed her parents' divorce and felt unsafe in her own home. After wishing for a different life a mysterious boy named Shido appeared in her dream, asking her to free him from the chains that held him. Once she wakes up from her dream, she finds herself in a strange world. There she befriends a giraffe named Twiga and learns that the boy she helped freed was a ghost. Although happy, Nina now finds herself afraid of losing this newfound friendship.
