After leaping into the ocean, a boy wakes up only to find that he can no longer breathe on land. With the help of a half-shark mermaid, they wander the vast ocean in hopes of stumbling across an explanation. When they meet a mysterious fish lady in an abandoned shipwreck, they find that they are both slowly losing their humanity and are at risk of becoming fish forever.
