On the ruined resource planet X-37, a forgotten trash robot named R-09 finds the mysterious core MC-00 after falling into an underground crack. He does not become a shining hero. He stays small, rusty, and underestimated, using hidden intelligence to repair abandoned robots, survive Red Eye hunters and mutated beasts, and build a secret robot kingdom from the junk humans left behind.
