An organization called Ethos is one of the biggest alternative energy producers, harvesting the powers of special humans called INHUMANS . Eighth and his mentor escaped Ethos's harvesting labs and ended up working at a sensitive job for the same people who had been hunting them, but with the offer of protection from Ethos. However, it all comes down a part when there services were no longer needed .
