In 1998, Jersey City, Esther Bennett and their twin sister, Melanie, have always been each other’s only constant. After a childhood shaped by neglect and instability, the two have carved out a fragile existence in the city. But when Melanie suddenly disappears, Esther is left completely alone in their crumbling apartment with no food, no money, and a growing fear of the outside world. Struggling with agoraphobia and isolation, Esther is forced to confront the harsh reality of survival.
