As the COVID-19 pandemic begins to disrupt Sydney in March 2020, office worker Max struggles with uncertainty, grief from a past loss, and the sudden upheaval of everyday life. While playing tabletop games with friends offers brief escapism, reality quickly intrudes through news of lockdowns and restrictions. Seeking comfort, Max visits a familiar neighbourhood milk bar, where a quiet conversation with the owner offers a moment of calm amid the growing chaos around him.
