Alice, Peter, and their child, Sulu, live at the end of the world. They have enough money for a new home but not quite enough for a ticket off of Earth before the sun explodes, obliterating everyone and everything in the solar system. The growing sun in the sky is a looming reminder of the inevitability of their future. Other than that, life is pretty normal: mundane, really. And isn't an unavoidable future of death true for all of us, anyway?
