When uprising breaks out in Wuyue, the kingdom is thrown into civil war, and Prince Ming is stranded in the capital. He ends up befriending other nobles, stranded alongside him, and begins falling for his childhood friend, Prince Erik. As the royal family struggles among themselves for power, they also must compete with rebels and outside threats.
