In the midst of battle, the Archangel Raphael finds himself whisked into the human world, transformed completely human himself! The only way to get back to Heaven is through its gate which looms dangerously above a faraway land. On the road with Tobias (his guide) and Azzy (their dog), he realizes that, maybe, he might not want to return to Heaven after all.
