A Canary. In the old days miners used canaries to detect poison gases in mines. Today they don't use little birds and if it's a mine it isn't coal. Canaries are a class of people used to test the viability of off world interest for the wealthy and well connected. My group will be the first to be used to colonize a planet outside of Earth's solar system.
