Finley is a 12-year-old witch with incredibly unstable magic. He sucks at it. A lot. One day, while practicing alone in the woods, he is attacked by a shape-shifting snake creature. Flinging a spell in self-defense, Finley accidentally gives the creature memory loss, turning them into a friendly child named Serpa. Finley takes him home, but worries what will happen when the spell breaks. Plus, something strange is going on in Finley's life...and it just might change his life forever.
