Many Undertale AUs have been created over the years, what is known as the Undertale Multiverse. The only characters who can travel the multiverse freely are Outcodes, who are mostly Sanses. One such outcode, Error Sans, meets a Papyrus version of himself. This is followed by Fresh Sans and Ink Sans meeting their own Papyrus versions as well. These Sanses find themselves having to deal with their own Papyri, while these Papyri try to adapt and learn their place and purpose in the Multiverse.
