This adventure story follows two people as they go through the trials of their times. Young Ming-Cheng longs for nothing more and nothing less than to get to his long-dreamed of heaven: the Capital. Scientist - not witch! - Belle Mallory wants nothing more and nothing less than to be left in peace with her dear books and experiments. They must both face the payoff - and fallout - of what they're willing to do to survive while challenging their conceptions of what they truly want from life.
