The poem, of course, is a parody of the one from the Universal monster movies: Even a man who is pure in heart and says his prayers by night may become a wolf when the wolfbane blooms and the autumn moon is bright. Then after the first film, the last line changed to: And the moon is full and bright And thus, Hollywood helped to create the "werewolves at full moon" mythos.
